MAHARASHTRA: Mumbai Police have summoned the makers of a Saif Ali Khan-starrer web-series Tandav after it drew the ire of Hindus for its alleged vile Hinduphobic content in the nation. The web-series also reported having insulted Lord Shiva and Lord Ram.
As the criticism grows, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ram Kadam lodged a complaint against actor Zeeshan Ayyub and the web series demanding an apology for insulting Hindu gods. He accused web-series of routinely making anti-Hindu content.
In the complaint addressing to Senior Police Inspector Ghatkopar Police Station, Kadam said he would like to inform you that web-series Tandav has insulted the Hindu gods and hurt the feeling of Hindus. Web-series director Ali Abbas has glorified leftist ideology while actor Zeeshan has insulted Hindu god Lord Shiva. He requested for filing an FIR against Amazon prime, director, producer, writer, actors and ban the streaming of web-series.
Following the complaint, Mumbai police have summoned the makers of Tandav after registering an FIR under Section 295A, Section 67A of IT Act and Atrocities Act.
