Minister Bhargav chairs general body meeting of Handicrafts Development Corporation

A glimpse the craft of Madhya Pradesh will now be on display in Nagpur, Maharashtra and Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. For this, the Handicrafts Development Corporation will soon start “Mrignayani” showrooms in these two cities. This decision was taken in a meeting of the general body of Sant Ravidas Handicrafts Development Corporation chaired by Minister of Cottage, Khadi and Village Industries Gopal Bhargav.

Minister Bhargav has also given instructions to prepare an action plan to publicize the handicraft products on a larger scale.

Minister Bhargav said that the “Mriganyani” showrooms of Handicrafts Development Corporation are a better platform to provide market to the artisans of the state. He said that an action plan should be prepared for Mrignayani showrooms in all major cities of the country. He said that the craftspersons must be trained to manufacture products as per the modern market demands.

Minister Bhargav said that Handicrafts Development Corporation will put up “Mrignayani” outlets in big religious fairs in the country. Similarly, handloom expos should be organized in other districts of the state.

Managing Director of Handicrafts Development Corporation Rajiv Sharma presented the financial statement for the year 2019-20 in the general body meeting. He said that the Handicrafts Development Corporation has earned a dividend of Rs 6.5 lakh after deducting all its expenses which will be distributed to the participants.
