Over 1.5 million Indian citizens had been administered with COVID-19 vaccine in 8 days since the launch of the world’s biggest vaccine drive. The daily vaccination numbers have grown up to 2.30 lakhs and around 146,598 health care workers were inoculated on Saturday.
Some modifications were made in the Co-Win application to permit beneficiaries to walk-in out-of-turn and get vaccinated even if it’s not their names appearing next in the list.
India crossed the one-million mark vaccination beneficiaries the fastest in the world within just six days whereas the US took nine days. The Union Health Ministry has set a target of 30 million vaccination of corona warriors as in health care staffers and frontline workers.
Vaccination rate on Saturday came slightly down to 55.3 per cent in comparison to 57 per cent two days ago on Thursday. Delhi saw the highest turn out with 86 per cent of the total target achieved.
