Rajnandgaon boy Rustam Sahu has brought laurels for the state by winning gold medal in the National Archery Championship held at Rajkot in Gujarat. Yugal secured the fourth position in the Championship.
Both Rustam and Yugal were accorded a warm welcome upon their arrival on Monday. Rajnandgaon Mayor was also present on the occasion. Rustam has been continuing training under the guidance of international archery coach Hiru Sahu at his native village Kutulbod, Bhatagaon Sirra. Rustam’s father Santosh Sahu is associated with Swachh Bharat Mission. Hiru Sahu is imparting coaching free of cost.
Mayor Hema Deshmukh and Jeetu Mudaliyar reached to welcome Rustam who has made the state proud. Rajnandgaon municipal corporation speaker Harinarayan, Chetan Bhanushali, Youth Congress president Laxman Sahu, Tara Sahu, Yugal Sahu, Surendra Sao, Rakesh Chandrakar, Ishwar Nishad, Vinay Gore, Vikram Markam, Chhanendra Sahu, Dr Raghu Sahu and Sarpanch Mukesh Sahu, village patel Patiram Sahu and Rajesh Yadav congratulated Rustam.
