The High Court of Chhattisgarh has ordered a stay on the appointment of assistant professors on the reserved seats for Scheduled Caste category. The Single Bench of the High Court comprising Justice Gautam Bhaduri gave this verdict.

It is worthwhile to mention, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) Raipur has released an advertisement for the appointment of 66 assistant professors. Petitioner Durgesh Sagar had filed a petition in the High Court through advocate Anjinesh Ajay Shukla.

The petition said that the petitioner had also applied for the post. Following an interview, colleges had released the list of candidates selected for the post of assistant professors

While challenging the selection of non-applicant number-3 selected from the scheduled caste category from the list of qualified candidates, the petitioner said that the college had given more marks than the scorecard, irrespective of his educational qualification and educational experience. Also, the selection of non-applicant number three has been done in the violation of rules.

The Single Bench stayed the appointment of assistant professors on the seats reserved for the Scheduled Castes in the IGKV till further order after the preliminary hearing of the case.
