Thousands of trucks and cars stuck for hours as farmers disrupted the traffic on National Highways on the call of farmer unions and trade unions to press for the repealing of three farm laws from 12 pm to 3 pm across Chhattisgarh.

On the call of Chhattisgarh Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh, Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha, Centre of Indian Trade Union and Adiwasi Ekta Mahasabha, farmers blocked the arterial roads by staging Chakka Jam in major cities like Raipur, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Korba, Kanker, Durg, Surajpur, Balod and Surguja.

Even as the nation suffers an immense loss, headstrong farmers are not ready to listen to any logic or reasoning or even pointing out the specific provisions of farm laws which may hurt their interest, their remain adamant on their single-point demand of repealing of laws.

The Union leaders said their main demand is repealing of laws and legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price for their produces. The MSP should be at least one and a half of the production cost. Communists organization lamented about an alleged reduction in expenses in the agriculture sector.
