Chhattisgarh Hockey general secretary Dr Manish Shrivastav has been appointed as member of West Zone (Hockey) Talent Identification Zonal Committee. The committee has been vested with the assignment of selection talented hockey players in the zone as part of the ongoing programme of Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Sports Ministry, Government of India.
The Committee will search for the talents at grassroots level in the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Rajasthan and groom them, informed SAI’s high performance director S S Rai. Bilaspur Hockey president Rohit Bajpai said that the appointment of Shrivastav has come as welcome news for all the hockey players of the state. It is worthwhile to mentioned, Dr Shrivastav is a Professor at Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur.
