The Fencing Association of India (FAI) has awarded the hosting of the 22nd Sub-Junior U-14 National Fencing Championship for Boys and Girls to Odisha State Fencing Association from March 24 to 26 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Cuttack.
All affiliated States, UTs and Institutional member units have been invited to participate in the Championship. Fencers participating in the Championship must be less than 14 years of age as on March 31, 2021, those born on or after 01.04.2007 are eligible for participant in the above Championship. As per guidelines and direction by MYAS, Govt. of India it is mandatory to register the fencers for issue of identity card (based on one time registration no.) and same is required to be uploaded in the website. Fencers need to fill up the requisite form in online through FAI Website with requisite registration fee from www.fencingindia.org and automatic download the ID Card once application is filled virtually on website. The same is must for participation in any national in future.
The FAI has asked the states to confirm immediately the number of participants and send the entry form, so that the FAI can inform the organisers for necessary good arrangement like Lodging, Boarding and Transporting facilities timely.
It may please be noted that Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS), Govt of India and concerned State Government in connection with COVID- 19 pandemic are strictly followed to ensure that the competition is conducted smoothly. Any Fencer/Official found violating the SOP/Guidelines issued in regard to Covid- 19 will be debarred from participation in this championship.
Similarly, the 28th Junior (U-20) National Fencing Championship for Boys and Girls would be hosted by the Fencing Association of Uttarakhand State from 15th to 17th March at Sports Stadium (Indoor), Rudrapur, Distt- Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.
Fencers participating in the Championship must be less than 20 years of age as on 31st March 2021, those born on or after 01.04.2001 and over 13 years are eligible to participate in the said
The 31st Senior National Fencing Championship for Men and Women would also be hosted by the Fencing Association of Uttarakhand 19th to 21st March at Rudrapur. FAI Secretary General Bashir Ahmed Khan said that the decision was taken during a meeting held recently in Delhi.
