Files related to the ongoing inquiry against a District Education Officer went missing from the Chhattisgarh Secretariat, raising several eyebrows towards the working of the officials. To be noted, a departmental inquiry is underway against former Raipur District Education Officer G R Chandrakar.

Sources said that the filed related to the case went missing from the department concerned. This carelessness attitude on the part of the officials had promoted School Education Department secretary Ashish Kumar Bhatt to issue a notice and directed for departmental action against those responsible for the missing files.

It may be recalled that a complaint was lodged against the appointment and experience certificates of DEO G R Chandrakar. The investigating officer Pratima Awasthi had earlier written the facts on the note sheet. Reply was also sought from School Education Joint Director S K Bhardwaj. The role of the investigating officers has come under scanner for sudden missing of files.

According to complainant Sunil Kumar Tiwari of Baloda Bazaar, a strategy was made to save the officer under investigation. After the disclosure, Bhatt issued notice to Under Secretary A R Khan.

Chandrakar had adopted unfair means to get benefits in the job, Tiwari had complained following which Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission had directed to conduct an inquiry. The complainant had moved the court.
