Police claimed to have solved the murder mystery of a 9-year-old boy with the arrest of the accused in the case. Pachpedi Police said that the boy was brutally killed by a youth, who was supposed to get married to victim’s elder sister.
According to police, the accused wanted to postpone his wedding, but failed to convince the families involved. Only then the accused hatched the plan to delay the wedding.
Police received inputs about kidnapping of a nine- year- old child Priyanshu Naik, son of Punit Naik, on Sunday morning. The kidnapping took place while the boy was playing along with other children near his house.
The complaint about boy’s missing was made by village’s Om Naik, who was supposed to get married to the elder sister of the victim. Police swung into action and searched for the boy.
Inspector General of Police Ratanlal Dangi and Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal also rushed to the spot and gave necessary instructions to the police teams.
During conversation with the villagers about the boy and the complainant, several leads were found. After discussing the matter with their higher authorities, Pachpedi Police grilled Om Naik.
Initially, the accused tried to misled the cops but later broke down and confessed to his crime. The accused informed police that since last one month he had been staying with his aunt in the village. After his marriage was fixed in the village, he became very friendly with the child and was often seen with him playing or enjoying in the market.
He informed Police that he wanted to postpone the wedding but failed in his efforts to delay the ceremony. Finally on Sunday morning he took the child to the barren place behind Girls Hostel and strangulated him to death. After committing the crime, he framed the story of kidnapping to conceal the evidences. Later Police recovered the body from the bushes behind the Girls Hostel. Police have arrested the accused and registered an offence against him. Further investigations are on.
