Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bisahulal Singh has said that under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the operators of fair price shops would be paid commission of 2 months for 8 month period from April to November as interim amount within 7 days. The payment of the remaining amount will be started from the next month.
According to the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Food Minister Singh and Cooperatives and Public Service Management Minister Arvind Bhadoria were jointly reviewing with the officials regarding payment of pending dues of procurement to the cooperatives.
In the meeting, Cooperative Minister Bhadoria said that district-wise programmes should be chalked out for the action related to the payment of pending dues of food grains to cooperative institutions, in which the officers of the cooperative and procurement agency should complete the matching of the liabilities and deductions at the district level in 7 days. He said that after this the district officers will be jointly invited to Bhopal division wise the payment would be reviewed. The pending payment of fair price shops will also be reviewed in the division-wise meetings.
Food Minister Bisahulal Singh said that under the public distribution system, un-automated distributed food grains will be matched by a committee constituted at the district level and a proposal would be sent to the Government of India for permission to register un-automated distributed food grains on the food distribution portal. Along with this, the Government of India and the State Government will make joint efforts to increase the amount of relevant expenditure due to the procurement committees on coarse grains, gram and millet.
Principal Secretary Food Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Principal Secretary Cooperation Umakant Umrao, Managing Director Markfed P. Narhari, Director Food Tarun Pithode and officials of Food and Cooperation Department were present.
