Hundreds of National Students Union of India (NSUI) members led by state secretary Hemant Pal staged a demonstration at the Shastri Chowk petrol pump in Raipur in protest against rising prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas.
NSUI members shouted slogans against central government demanding reduction of fuel prices. They said that petrol price has touched Rs 100 in some places of the country and common man is harassed by the increasing prices as it has led to increase in prices of other essential commodities.

Pal alleged that the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas have been continuously increasing for some time, due to which the college and school going students are facing problems. For the first in history, petrol price has reached Rs 100.
Dubey said that the central government is solely responsible for the inflation. NSUI district president Amit Sharma, Varun Tiwari, district general secretary Nikhil Wanjari, Hariom Tiwari, Mahtab Hussain, Prashant Goswami, Keshav Sinha, Dev Nirmalkar, district coordinator Puneshwar Lahre, Ankit Sharma, Harish Patnaik, Chiranjeevi Tandon, Kiran, Tarun, Sagar, Abhishek, Vaibhav Mujewar, Gavesh Sahu, Rahul Sahu were present during the demonstration.
