BJP will retain Assam, form govt in West Bengal: Dr Raman Singh

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President Dr Raman Singh on Saturday said the party will form government in both West Bengal and Assam.  “While the party will retain Assam with much improved performance, we will form the government in West Bengal for the first time,” said Dr Singh.

Despite tall claims by All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) leaders regarding winning elections, Congress is either coming  third or fourth, losing all the elections one after the other.

In response to claims made by former AICC President Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel that the party will be snatching power from BJP, Dr Singh while interacting with the media said in the last two years, Congress has lost a number of big states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

To a query on indifferences in the party-fold,  Dr Singh said since new BJP State In Charge D Purandeswari and Co In charge Nitin Nabin have taken charge, party activities have increased manifold and both leaders and party workers are together actively engaged in preparing grounds. During their trip to Chhattisgarh, they visit different districts and interact with leaders and party workers while giving them responsibilities, boosting the morale of the party workers and office-bearers. Action plan is being prepared and executed by the party in the state.

Speaking about the national level meeting to be chaired by National President Jagat Prakash Nadda which will take place shortly, Dr Singh said such a meeting is taking place at the national level after a long gap. He said the State President, General Secretary (Organization) and other senior leaders including him will be attending this meeting. He said till now during the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings were being held in virtual mode and after a long time this physical meeting is being held. This meeting will discuss future action plans along with submission of state-wise reports regarding party activities till date.

Commenting on the efforts being made by the Industries Minister and Health Minister carrying out meetings in Janjgir-Champa for setting up industries in the state, Dr Singh said since last two years this government has made only claims and announcements. In these two years not a single project has taken shape nor has been commenced. So far the initiation of any new work on investment point of view has not started in Chhattisgarh since the ruling Congress government has come to power. Everything is one paper and seems to remain in paper only.

Commenting on opening of schools, Dr Singh said everyone welcomes the decisions of re-opening of schools, but what is important is that proper precautions and safety measures should be taken before its re-opening. Availability of sanitizers, proper sanitization of class-rooms as per protocols, wearing masks, social distancing and compliance of other COVID-19 safety protocols should be ensured.
