Drawing the attention of the Finance Minister towards facts, organisation chief patron KPS Rai, national president Sanjay Thul, national secretary general M Jagannathan and other office bearers urged the Finance Minister for necessary action at her end.

They informed the Union Finance Minister that Central government has introduced the GST in 2017 and at that time sanctioned work force in the department was 91755 against the sanctioned strength 54791 were working and 36964 posts were lying vacant. There are lot of arrears are pending against the tax evaders but department is unable to recover the arrears because of proper work force, they wrote to the Finance Minister.

Because of this tax evasion, rich getting richer and poor getting poorer, they said in the letter. The indirect tax evasion is increasing the economical inequity as the money of tax evasion is going from the pocket of crores of tax payers to the few thousand tax evaders. According to the latest report on inequity, 40 per cent of wealth of this country is in the hand of one per cent citizen. Evasion of indirect tax is playing major role behind this economical inequity. Posts from Group A to Group C are lying vacant and the number of vacancies is increasing every year. Shortage of staff has increased workload leading to stress among them. Employees are falling ill due to workload, said national president Thul.

Therefore, the organisation requested to fill up the 42246 vacant posts to control the tax evasion and proper monitoring of revenue in the interest of nation.
