Two-day Khel Madai concluded on a high note at Patan on Sunday. As the name suggests, several traditional sports competition were organised under joint aegis of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association and Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Chhattisgarh, to promote local sports which has also been the priority of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
In individual game, Dikeshwari of Patan bagged first prize in Fugdi sports followed by Dhanishtha of Raipur bagged second prize and Rina Nishad of Bemetara bagged the third prize. In Pudhav Puk sports, Parmeshwar Barre of Rajnandgaon, Akash Bagh of Patan and Bharat Sahu of Gariaband won first, second and third prize respectively.
In Nangodia Bhora sports, Karan Sahu of Rajnandgaon, Gopal Nishad of Patan and Lalit Rajak of Bilaspur won first, second and third prize respectively. In Gilli-Danda (men), Raipur, Gariaband emerged as winners and runner up. In Sur Pittul, Raipur won first position while Durg bagged second prize. In Gedi Gend, Baloda Bazaar and Dhamtari bagged first and second prize respectively. In Tube Langrechi, Patan bagged the first prize while Raipur stood second. In Sankhli (girls), Durg won the first prize while Dhamtari won second prize.
Chhattisgarh Olympic Association secretary general Gurucharan Singh Hora, vice president G S Bhambra, Raipur District Olympic Association president Dr Atul Shukla, sports officer Dr Dinesh Namdev, block education officer T R Jagdale, CSTA’s Rupendra Singh Chouhan, Thana In-charge Shivanand Tiwari and others were present during the prize distribution function.
