Kunnathunad Police arrested a 74-year-old pastor named Mathew on the charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl in Ernakulam, Kerala.
According to the reports, Pastor Mathew sexually assaulted the minor girl while she was home alone in January 2021. Mathew preaches on religious subjects about Christianity going from home-to-home. As the girl complained about the pastor to her mother, a report was lodged with the Police.
Konnathady Police arrested Pastor Mathew after registering an FIR under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and produced him to a Court, which sent Mathew to judicial custody. Pastor Mathew is a resident of Mukaddam near Konnathady in the Idukki District.
