A Trinamool Congress Leader Modassar Hossain openly threatened the voters and opposition party leaders before the West Bengal State Assembly Election while talking to some media persons after a meeting.
Political coercion and violence is a hallmark of West Bengal whether it’s Panchayat or Municipal elections or even the state legislative election. In a viral video, Modassar Hossain said “Nobody will be allowed to go to vote except those TMC voters and those who don’t want to vote TMC will be sleeping at home. Central Forces will guard at the booths, but his people will play on the field. There are 14000 votes at Panchayat of Ward no-2 and they need all of them. We fight as a team regardless of the opposition. We don’t turn our backs. CPIM, Congress, BJP and TMC are calling it a game. All our players are ready. There will be totally different game and there won’t be any opposition left.”
