Renowned Indian cricketer Gundappa Vishwanath met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in his office here on Monday and invited him for the Road Safety World Series Cricket League starting on March 5.
To increase public awareness about the importance of road safety, Road Safety World Series Cricket Tournament is being organized from March 5 to 21 at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Nava Raipur. This time there will be a total of 15 matches, in which veteran players from different countries are joining. Vishwanath invited the Chief Minister for the opening ceremony of the league and also presented him the first ticket of the match. Vishwanath also presented a cricket bat to the Chief Minister as a memento.

Teams including India, South Africa, Australia, West Indies and Bangladesh will participate in the tournament. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Jonty Rhodes, Brett Lee, Brian Lara and Muttaiah Muralitharan will be the part of the tournament. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will be the chief guest of the event. Sachin Tendulkar will be arriving in Raipur on Tuesday to participate in the tournament. It is to be mentioned, India will take on Bangladesh in the first match of the tournament on March 5.
