Fortune Higher Secondary School for Visually Impaired students shine in para-athletics

Disability is not a curse. A differently-abled can prove his/her worth provided he or she gets opportunities. Students of Fortune Higher Secondary School for Visually Impaired Bagbahara Khurd excelled in the recently held in state level para-athletics championship organised by Chhattisgarh Para Athletics Association Raipur on February 27 and 28 at Swami Vivekananda Stadium.

Students of the school bagged 7 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal in the championship. They participated in 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, long jump, shot put  etc. Uma Shankar Patel won 2 Gold Medal, Lucky Yadav won 1 Gold 1 Silver Medal, Ishwari Nishad won 1 Gold Medal, Dileshwari Dhruv won 2 Gold medals, Preity Yadav won 1 gold, 1 silver medal, Shriti Pradhan got 1 silver, 1 bronze medal.

School Principal Niranjan Sahu informed that the medalists will go to Chennai to participate in the national championship from March 24 to 28. The founder member of the organisation Vishwanath Panigrahi congratulated the students. Block Education Officer R K Kovachi, Harikrishna Srivastava, Vishwanath Agarwal, Harish Pandey, Manish Agarwal, Atul Bagga, Bhekhalal Sahu, Vishnu Mahananda, Tulsiram Bariha, Vijay Sharma, Govardhanlal Baghel, Bhojram Verma among others congratulated the students.
