Pietersen returns to cricket, Bangladesh eye win

Bangladesh Legends take on England Legends today at 7 pm

England’s legendary batsman Kevin Pietersen is making a comeback to cricket after two years and all eyes will be on the maverick batsman as England Legends take on Bangladesh Legends in the third tie of the Unacademy Road Safety World Series T20 2021 at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur on Sunday night.

It will be interesting to see if the stylish batsman can make an impact and play a similar kind of attacking cricket which he played during his heydays as an active cricketer.

With 13 thousand plus international runs and 32 centuries including all formats of the game, Pietersen, a match winner for the English side before he hung up his boots, will be the star to watch out for England once again in this exciting series which has taken the fans to the pleasant memories of the past.

Apart from Pietersen, England have some interesting names in the squad like Jonathan Trott, James Tindall, Usman Afzaal, Kabir Ali, Matthew Hoggard, Ryan Sidebottom, Monty Panesar and Sajid Mahmood who had major impact to England cricket back in the days.

\It won’t be anything different in this series

On the other hand, Bangladesh, which has already had a disappointing start to the season after an embarrassing defeat to India in the opener, will have to get their act right before it’s too late.

Against Sachin Tendulkar & Co. on Friday, Bangladesh struggled in both the departments with bowling getting the harshest treatment from none other than the dangerous Nawab of Najafgarh, Virender Sehwag.

Sehwag had scored a 35-ball 80 against the veteran and experienced side of Bangladesh led by Mohammed Rafique.

As far as the batting goes, Bangladesh will have to put up a better show than they did in their last game. Their batting collapsed for 109 runs against more than a decent attack of India. Another debacle will make it difficult for them to advance to the next stage of the tournament.

England will be keen to start on a winning note while Bangladesh will want to open their account. Can they do it? Only time will tell.
