India Legends take on South Africa in a high voltage match on March 13

India Legends will eye a semi final berth with a win against South Africa Legends at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium here in their next match of the Road Safety World Series on Saturday.

On the other hand, it will be a do or die situation for a confident South Africa squad, which convincingly defeated England other night, when they take on India on Saturday as another win against India will increase their chance to reach the knock-out stage.

India Legends have 12 points from four matches and are in second place in the points table. Sri Lanka’s team is in first place with 16 points. The South Africa stood third with eight points.

Indian had narrowly lost the match against England the other day and it was their first defeat in the tournament.  India had almost achieved the target with the help of Irfan Pathan’s unbeaten 61 and Manpreet Gony’s unbeaten 35, but finally fell short of six runs, chasing a target of 188 runs.

Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar is yet to deliver his best in the series and he will definitely try to leave an impact against South Africa on Saturday. His personal highest total in the tournament so far has been 33 not out, which he had made against Bangladesh Legends here.

Similarly, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Yusuf Pathan, Naman Ojha and S Badrinath are struggling to get their form back and mark their presence felt.

Pragyan Ojha, who proved to be quite expensive against England in the last match, will also try to ensure he does not concede too much runs against South Africa. Ojha had given 43 runs in four overs without any wicket at a time when off spinners like Monty Panesar and Thandi Tshabalala are doing well on this wicket.

The morale of South Africa team headed by Jonty Rhodes is high after their victory against England on Thursday. The South Africa team have not only regained their form with the bat but they also look impressive with the ball.
