With sale of tickets for the final match of Unacademy Road Safety World Series T20 Tournament has been reduced to about 50 per cent in compliance with Covid-19 protocols, many cricket enthusiasts will be deprived of seeing and enjoying the final match between India Legends and Sri Lanka Legends live at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Nava Raipur, on Sunday. The 48000 capacity stadium will allow only 50 per cent of the total seats as per government guidelines.

When India Legends will face Sri Lanka Legends in the final at SVNS Stadium on Sunday, it will refresh the memory of the 2011 ICC World Cup final played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

India Legends currently have five players from that World Cup squad, while Sri Lanka Legends currently have six players from the 2011 World Cup. To be mentioned, India had won the ICC world cup final.

The Sachin Tendulkar-led India Legends team has players like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan and Munaf Patel, while fast bowler Zaheer Khan was part of this team last year.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Legends team consists of captain Tillakaratne Dilshan, Rangana Herath, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ajanta Mendis, Chamara Silva and Upul Tharanga who were part of the 2011 World Cup runners-up.

Under the leadership of captain Tendulkar, India Legends will be keen to repeat the 2011 World Cup final, while Dilshan will have a chance to avenge the defeat in the World Cup final. Both teams have been in excellent form throughout the tournament and will be keen to outdo each other.

Tendulkar’s team has a strong and explosive batting line-up, including the captain and others like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Yusuf, Kaif, Irfan and Manpreet Singh Gony.

Sri Lanka’s team has two batsmen in the top three list of top scorers in the season. Dilshan has highest 250 runs with seven half-centuries, followed by Tharanga, who finished third with 224 runs in five matches.

India, however, need to be cautious of Sri Lankan bowling which is in top form, especially off-spinner Dilshan. Apart from him, Kulasekara, who took five wickets in the last match, remain a threat.

India will have to work hard in their bowling department. The last time India Legends and Sri Lanka Legends clashed, India won by five wickets.
