PAKISTAN: A group of Islamic radicals ransacked a 100-year-old Hindu temple, which was undergoing renovation, in Rawalpindi of Pakistan on March 29, 2021. The attackers vandalized the temple located at Purana Qila area of the City.

According to the reports, a gang of around 12 to 15 people barged into the temple premises and broke the main door, another door at the upper storey and a staircase. The renovation work was going on for the last one month. According to the complaint, some encroachments were removed in front of the temple recently. The illegal structures were built by the encroachment mafia around the temple. However, since the temple was under renovation, there wasn’t any idol there.

Hindu temples are constantly being attacked and vandalized by radical Islamists in Pakistan. Just last year in December, another Hindu religious place was burnt by Islamists in the Karak district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.PAKISTAN
