Appointment of lecturers cancelled for failing to join on given date

Directorate of Public Instructions (DPI) on Saturday evening issued an order regarding the cancellation of appointment of lecturers who failed to join the duty by March 31, 2021. DPI Jitendra Shukla said in the order that the appointment order of the candidates who have not joined till 31 March stands cancelled automatically.

There was a demand that those who could not join due to some technical reasons, be given an extension, but the Education Department has made it clear that those who have not joined, will not be granted extension in joining dates.

DPI Shukla had issued an order regarding the appointment of lecturers  on February 22 asking the candidates to join by 31 March under any circumstances. On the basis of the appointment order, most of the candidates had joined, but some of them said that they could not join due to technical reasons and urged for an extension in the date.

The order issued by the DPI on Saturday reads that as per condition 1 of the appointment order, the lecturers were directed to take charge in the designated institution by March 31 2021, the appointment order is deemed to be cancelled if the charge is not taken by the candidates do not take charge before the given date. Therefore, the appointment order of the selected lecturers who have not joined the designated institution till March 31 stand cancelled with immediate effect.

School Education Department Principal Secretary Dr Alok Shukla said, “We cannot wait for those candidates who are unable to comply with the appointment order issued more than one month prior to the date of joining.”
