Health department issued a comprehensive guideline for the treatment and monitoring of home isolation of non-symptomatic and mildly corona infected. Director, Health Services, Neeraj Bansod has issued a circular to the Chief Medical and Health Officers of all the districts to ensure strict adherence to the protocol related to home isolation. The department has given detailed instructions regarding permission, eligibility, conditions, rules, responsibilities of district administration, monitoring of health of patients and necessary precautions to be taken by patients for treatment of Covid-19 in home isolation.

The Health Department has directed private hospitals, nursing homes and doctors monitoring patients living in home isolation to reveal information related to the patient and the termination of their home isolation to the Chief Medical and Health Officer of the respective districts. It is mandatory for the corona infected patient to have a ventilated room and separate toilet in the house. If there is no such arrangement at home, then the treatment of the patient will be done in the Covid Care Center.  Undertaking will be filled in the prescribed form from the patients allowed for home isolation.

The Health Department has directed the private hospitals, nursing homes and doctors monitoring the patients in the home isolation to list all such persons.

Instructions have been given to set up a call center and control room to be operated round the clock at the district level seven days a week. The district control room will assess the patient’s eligibility before allowing home isolation. Regarding home isolation, proper counseling has also been given to the patient’s relatives and neighbors so that they can help maintain their morale even while maintaining proper distance from the patient throughout the entire period of isolation.

The family of the patient living in home isolation will also not go out of the house.  Necessary arrangements will be made to ensure availability of daily need of the family.

The household waste collection and proper management of the home isolated patient’s home will be done through the district administration. All information related to home isolated patients will be made available daily by the district administration to the state’s IDSP branch.
