Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a detailed discussion with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel regarding the Naxalite incident in Bijapur. Chief Minister Baghel informed the Union Home Minister about the situation on the ground and the encounter took place between the Naxalites and the security forces of the State and Center in Bijapur. The Chief Minister said that the damage done to the security forces in the encounter is irreparable and condemnable. “But the security forces are strong and we will win this fight against Naxalite violence,” the Chief Minister told the Union Home Minister.
The Union Home Minister told the Chief Minister that the Union Government and the State Government will together win this fight. He said that whatever help needed from the Centre, will be given to the state in the battle against Naxalites. He said that he has instructed the Director-General of CRPF to visit the site of the incident.
Chief Minister Baghel said that the villagers are getting disillusioned with the Naxalites due to the continuous development work being done in the areas affected by Naxal violence and they are constantly joining the mainstream of development. Health, education, and other facilities are becoming accessible to the remote villages and people are moving away from the Naxalite ideology. Due to this, Naxalites are trying to make their presence known by carrying out such attacks. The state government isn’t afraid of it and is determined to take its development work to every village.
