CGBSE makes special arrangements for students appearing for Class X, XII exam


Amidst alarmingly increasing number of corona cases in the state in recent days and a confusion over whether 10th and 12th annual examination will be held, Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) on Tuesday made it clear that the board will conduct offline examination on the decided dates keeping in mind the future of lakhs of students waiting for the high school and higher secondary school certificate examination. It is to be mentioned, the Class X examination will be held from April 15 to May 1 followed by Class XII examination will be conducted from May 3 to 24 through offline mode.
The Board has also made it clear that those students, who are unable to attend any of the papers or entire examination due to corona positive/lockdown/containment zone, would be passed. However, their mark sheet will carry ‘C’ instead of marks. Such students will not be included in the list of absentees. Here ‘C’ stands for Corona, said CGBSE chairman and School Education Secretary Dr Alok Shukla.
Dr Shukla said that the Board will conduct a special supplementary examination so that the students carrying ‘C’ in their mark sheet can appear for the examination and get mark sheets carrying marks for each subjects, said Dr Shukla.
The Board said that all the recognised schools have been made the examination centres in order to reduce the rush and maintain social distancing norms. Each examination hall should accommodate upto 50 per cent of the strength. Sanitisation of examination hall is mandatory apart from sanitization of hands of students and officials and employees on examination duty. Corona positive students will not be allowed to sit in the examination in any circumstances, said Dr Shukla.
