The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressing at the webinar for effective implementation of Union Budget in Defence Sector, in New Delhi on February 22, 2021.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fix 18 years as minimum age for Covid vaccination in the country.

In his twitter message for the Prime Minister, Baghel said that Coronavirus infections are increasing in the country including Chhattisgarh.  Therefore he thinks that the younger generation of the country must be protected from the disease, so that they can face the future challenges. It can be possible only when the minimum age of vaccination should be fixed at 18 years, the Chief Minister said in his tweet.

On the other hand, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan has criticized some states of the country for demanding to reduce the age limit for Covid vaccination. Dr Vardhan said that several states have not vaccinated all health workers, frontline workers and senior citizens in their respective states so far.

Union Minister Dr Vardhan tweeted that some states in the country are demanding vaccination of people above 18 years of age. Does that mean they have vaccinated all their health workers, frontline workers and senior citizens of their respective states. But the ground reality is different, he tweeted.
