An Islamic organization All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) Kanpur called for the beheading of Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati for his alleged comments against prophet Mohammad. AIMIM put up provocative posters displaying photographs of severed heads of Narsinghanand and Wasim Rizvi with the slogan “Sar Tan Se Juda.”
Wasim Rizvi is the former Shia Central Board of Waqf in Uttar Pradesh, who had recently filed a case for removal of some alleged offensive verses of Quran. Narsinghanand Saraswati is head priest at Dasna Devi Temple.
Responding to several complaints, Kanpur Police claimed to have removed the offensive posters and launched an investigation. In a similar case, Balaghat Police arrested four Muslim men as Mateen Ajhari, Kasim Khan, Sohaib Khan and Raza Khan for putting up posters for killing Yati Nasinghananda Saraswati on Jama Masjid Road on April 9th.
The Muslim community had held a massive public meeting at Islamia Ground of Bareilly and gave the call for the beheading of Narsinghanand and Wasim Rizvi on the 9th of April.
