Dr Subhash Mishra, Director, Epidemic Control, said that he will take up all the matter related to Covid-19 with the state government and try to streamline all the arrangements as soon as possible. Dr Mishra stated this while interacting with media persons through a virtual conference on Saturday.

To a query asked by The Hitavada, Dr Mishra said that the temporary Covid hospital at Indoor Stadium has been started with minimum facilities. When asked about Covid patients fearing to get treatment at Indoor Stadium and other such temporary arrangements, Dr Mishra said that facilities are being increased at temporary hospitals. “We will try to rebuild the trust among patients,” said Dr Mishra.

On the shortage of injections, Remdesivir in particular, Dr Mishra said that the crisis in the market was created by overbuying of injections by a handful of people. Supply of injections has been initiated and that too directly to the hospitals. Action is being taken against people engaged in black-marketing of injections, said Dr Mishra.

Health department is constantly working to ensure availability of Remdesivir injection in the state. The tender for this has been successful and a total of 90000 injections will be supplied by the company concerned for the next three weeks. 30000 injections each will be supplied every week starting from April 18.

Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation, Karthikeya Goyal said that from April 18, the state will get 30000 injections every week and a total of 90000 in next three weeks. Out of this, 3000 injections will be given in the next two days, then the remaining injections will be given by the company within the prescribed time frame. These injections will be given in government medical colleges, district hospitals and government health institutions in the state where Covid patients are being treated.

In addition, pharmaceutical companies are directly supplying this injection to private hospitals.
