Raipur (Chhattisgarh), April 17
Raipur Police have arrested two persons allegedly indulged in black-marketing of life-saving drug ‘Remdesivir’ injection.
Acting on precise inputs, Raipur Police arrested two persons identified as Suryakant Yadav, hailing from Baloda Bazaar district, and Vikram Singh, a resident of Raipur’s Rohinipuram area, in connection with black-marketing of ‘Remdesivir’ injection, said Police Inspector Ramakant Sahu.
Sahu further informed that police and the local administration were receiving complaints about black-marketing of Remdesivir from media and other sources. Based on the complaints, police launched a campaign and arrested the duo.
Police sources further informed that a probe has been launched to ascertain the involvement of other people in the black-marketing of Remdesivir injection at the time of crisis. Several other facts are also being probed by the police.
Preventive actions were taken against the arrested persons, added police sources.
At the time of crisis emerging out of the COVID-19 pandemic, black-marketing of life-saving drugs is very unfortunate, said Raipur Collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan, adding that continuous crackdown will be carried out across the district against people indulged in black-marketing.
