300 passengers escaped COVID-19 testing at Silchar Airport

Displaying immature behaviour, as many as 300 passengers reportedly escaped compulsory COVID-19 testing at Silchar Airport in Assam on Wednesday.

Stern action against the passengers, who escaped from the airport, will be moved to send strong message that any type of misdeed in connection with mandatory COVID testing will not be tolerated, said authorities, elaborating that the administration will be lodging an FIR against these passengers.

According to information received, around 300 passengers reported to have escaped COVID-19 testing arranged by the health department at the airport. The authorities have managed to collect the details of these passengers from the airport authority and soon FIR against them will be lodged.

Notably, 690 passengers reportedly listed for the testing at airport on Wednesday. Of tested passengers, six were tested positive for coronavirus.
