PM cancels West Bengal tour due to high-level meetings to review COVID-19 situation

Amid massive surge in daily caseload of corona positive patients across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had canceled his West Bengal tour on April 23 as he will be chairing a high-level meeting.

As per information received, PM Modi will chair high-level meetings to review the prevailing COVID-19 situation tomorrow.

An information in this regard was given by the PM by tweeting through in officials account. He tweeted that “Tomorrow, will be chairing high-level meetings to review the prevailing COVID-19 situation. Due to that, I would not be going to West Bengal.”

It is to be mentioned here that polling held in 14,480 Polling Stations spread across 43 ACs in Phase VI WB Elections. Voter Turnout (at 5 PM) for Phase VI West Bengal Election 79.09%. Voters set an example of Covid appropriate behaviour at Polling Booths. ECI invites attention of all Political Parties to abide by laid down Covid Protocol during Campaigns. 7466 out of 14,480 polling stations monitored live through webcasting; Drones used to keep watch over vote proceedings.
