BJP stages demonstration against Chhattisgarh Government

RAIPUR (Chhattisgarh), April 24

Terming Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress Government responsible for the massive surge in infection and deaths along with scarcity of medical facilities, BJP on Saturday launched a statewide demonstration against the state government.

Irresponsible decisions and negligence resulted in a massive spike in the number of COVID-19 patients across the state as well as deaths, alleged BJP leaders, who staged a demonstration outside their own house today, elaborating that the state government is responsible for shortage in medical facilities.

Staging demonstration outside his house in Raipur, BJP national vice-president and former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that instead of working collectively in the battle against COVID-19, the state government is busy in making political allegations and blaming the government at center for its own failure. The insensible and negligible approach of the state government prompted the opposition to launch this statewide demonstration so that it could awake.

“There are scarcity of basic amenities, availability of beds, shortage of oxygen and ventilators. The state government also lacks concrete policy regarding life saving drugs,” alleged former CM Dr Raman Singh.

“Today, the people of Chhattisgarh are in crisis and the infection is increasing rapidly. Death figures are frightening, but the state government is sitting idle. There is no such thing as an arrangement. Chief Minister of the state was busy enjoying cricket and sometimes dancing in Assam and when it came to fighting COVID-19, he left the public on district collector. Bhupesh Baghel attempts to run away from his responsibility and make false allegations against the central government. From Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to Health Minister TS Singhdeo, the entire cabinet is trying to run away from their responsibilities today. It is unfortunate and BJP has tried to awaken them through this demonstration,” alleged BJP state president Vishnudeo Sai, who was staging a demonstration at his native village.

Likewise, party’s state general secretary Pawan Sai, Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, Member of Parliament Ramvichar Netam, MP Sunil Soni, MP Santosh Pandey, MP Vijay Baghel, MLA Brijmohan Agrawal, former minister and MLA Ajay Chandrakar and other party leaders also staged demonstration outside their respective houses.
