Madhya Pradesh (MP) Indore Police has booked a woman and her family for assaulting and coercing her husband to convert to Christianity on April 23, 2021.

The victim identified as Prakash Nagele (36) had lodged a complaint with the Police against his in-laws and wife. Nagele complained that he was offered Rs 50000 to convert to Christianity and later assaulted by his in-laws and wife when he refused the offer. He further alleged in-laws of tearing up his religious book. His wife and sister-in-laws were reportedly converted to Christianity for a Scooter.

Nagele accused Anupam Brother of forcing him to convert in February. Indore Police has registered FIR against the victim’s wife and his nine in-laws for hurting religious sentiments and criminal force and rioting. and Section 3 and 5 of the Freedom of Religion Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
