Congress MLAs for use of MLA-LADS for vaccination in state

RAIPUR, Apr 25
Congress Members of Legislative Assembly in Chhattisgarh have given their consent to the state government to use the entire fund of MLA Local Area Development Scheme (MLA-LADS) meant for the financial year 2021-22 for providing vaccines to the people of the state free of cost. This development took place in a virtual meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday.
Talking to media post meeting, Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources Department and Spokesman of Chhattisgarh government Ravindra Choubey said that the meeting of the CLP unanimously decided to authorize Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for usage of the MLA-LADS fund for the Covid vaccination in the state. The Congress MLAs have welcomed the decision of the Chhattisgarh government to provide free of cost covid vaccination to all people above 18 years of age in the state. The Congress MLAs have also thanked Chief Minister Baghel for it. Current corona situation and preventive measures for containment and management of the COVID were discussed in detail in the meeting, Choubey said. The Congress MLAs believe that covid vaccination would help to control the pandemic to a great extent in the state. It may be mentioned that the Congress party has 69 MLAs in Chhattisgarh legislative assembly. Each MLA is given an amount of Rs 2 crore under the MLA-LADS every year for development works in each assembly constituency. At the present time, it is more important to contain the spread of coronavirus infection and save the lives of people rather than developmental work.
