Mahasamud Police have arrested a doctor of the district hospital in connection with illegal selling of life-saving ‘Remdesivir’ injection, police said on Thursday.
Following a tip-off about the black-marketing of Remdesivir injection supplied to the government hospital, a joint team of the district’s cyber cell and local police laid a trap and succeeded in arresting a man along with six vials of the injections from Rajim turn in the district, said police.
Police further informed that the arrested accused was identified as a doctor posted in Mahasamund district hospital Dr Datyanashan Patel (30) and six vials of injections were seized from him. The accused was keeping six vials of Remdesivir supplied to the district hospital with him for selling it at an exorbitant price.
An offence in this connection was registered with Kotwali police under preventive sections and the accused was handed over to the Drug Control Department for further action, added police.
