Governor Anusuiya Uikey has a detailed discussion with the chiefs of various battalions of security forces deployed in Chhattisgarh, officials of the state military welfare board and NCC regarding the current situation of Covid pandemic, measures of control and helping the infected and those in need in the state. The Governor chaired the virtual meeting which was also attended by Chief Minister  Bhupesh Baghel, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Chief Secretary  Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Home Subrata Kumar Sahoo and DGP DM.  Awasthi.

Governor Anusuiya Uikey, while addressing the meeting, said that everyone needs to work together to deal with the corona infection.  She said that this meeting has been called to discuss how the security personnel, ex-servicemen and NCC cadets can play their meaningful role in this battle against Corona.  She said that the Indian Army is the pride of the country, whenever the country has  faced a crisis or natural disaster, the army has come forward and helped in every difficult time. She said that the administration is engaged in controlling the current status of Covid infection in the state and providing assistance to the needy.  Your cooperation is also needed in this.  She called upon the security forces and ex-servicemen to cooperate with the administration according to their skill.  She said that I appeal all those who think themselves worthy or suitable for the service, to come forward.  With your help, the capacity of governance will be enhanced and the lives of the people will also be saved.  The soldiers of your force, work in the border areas where the poor tribal people live, who do not know very much and they get infected by Covid, in such a situation they do not know how to help themselves, in such a situation people from your force should help such villagers.  Give them guidance and inform  provide them with various types of assistances by informing the administration. This will be the greatest human service in addition your duty obligations which is desperately needed today.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the meeting informed about the situation of corona infection in the state and the efforts being made by the Government of Chhattisgarh to strengthen and expand health services in the state for its prevention and  treatment of the victims.  He said that in view of Covid infection, the number of hospitals, ICUs, ventilators, oxygen beds etc. have been increased rapidly. Vaccination is being done for the prevention of corona along with the supply of essential medicines. So far, more than 54 lakh people have been vaccinated with the corona vaccine. Covid test of more than 70 lakh 30 thousand people has been done. Chief Minister said that the recovery rate of Covid patients has increased in the state. State government is continuously helping the corona victims and the needy with the help of volunteers, social organizations, business organizations and donors. He said that in view of the serious situation of corona infection, the service of organizations like security forces, ex-servicemen and NCC is needed.

On this occasion, Chief Minister appealed the security forces, ex-servicemen and NCC cadets to protect themselves, their families and nearby people from corona infection by following the Covid norms. He appealed to motivate the above 18 people to participate in the  Corona Vaccine Campaign starting from May 1 and  those above 45 years of age left for vaccination to get vaccinated .  He said that doubts and confusion should be removed from people’s minds regarding Corona vaccination.  Local administration should be immediately informed about those with symptoms  or in home isolation and not following the rules. The infected people should undergo immediate corona test. Chief Minister further said that Remedisvir and other medicines are being made available to hospitals as necessary.  There is a need for your cooperation in informing the local administration about the black marketing of essential medicines, hospital services and the travellers coming from outside.  He said that the NCC cadets through social media platforms should make people aware about Corona prevention, vaccination and protocols and to prevent those people who post negative information.  Chief Minister also appealed to the NCC cadets to regularly contact the corona patients in their vicinity by mobile to boost their morale and create a network to help the needy.  The Chief Minister said that a soldier is a lifelong soldier.  He said that it is the time to serve humanity.  We all need to work together in this.

Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said that every possible arrangement is being made under the leadership of Chief Minister to prevent the corona pandemic and serve the victims.  There is no shortage of funds for this in the state.  He informed about the efforts being made by police personnel to prevent the epidemic and appealed to the security forces, ex-servicemen and NCC cadets to cooperate in this task.

Director General of Police D M  Awasthi, DG Naxal Operation Ashok Juneja, CRPF IG Prakash D, ITBP IG Sanjeev Rana CISF and the Chiefs of BSF, State Sainik Welfare Board, SSD informed about vaccination, quarantine centers, treatment, etc.  They said that the leave of the battalion’s medical personnel has been cancelled due to the corona infection.  Vacation of soldiers residing in states where corona infection is excessive has  also been prohibited.  Along with keeping the returning soldiers in the Quarantine Center established by the battalion, their corona test is also being done to prevent infection.  The deputy commander of NCC said that there are 8,000 senior cadets in the state.  He urged to get them vaccinated on priority so that their services could be used to help the corona victims.
