Raipur, May 7
Two janmilita members allegedly indulged in killing of policemen were arrested in insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Friday.
“Following a precise intelligence inputs, the joint team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and District Force (DF) undertaking anti-naxal exercise arrested two janmilitia members from two separate locations on May 6. The arrested janmilitia members were allegedly indulged in murder of two assistant constables near a bridge close to village Bhejji Basti on April 15,” said a senior police officer.
The officer further informed that security personnel arrested Uika Aayta (26) from village Chintagufa while Madkam Hidma (25) was held from village Aladmadgu. In preliminary interrogation, the arrested duo admitted their association with the banned organisation and also revealed their involvement in killing of policemen identified as Dhaniram Kashyap and Punem Hidma near village Bhejji Basti. They also revealed the involvement of Konta Area Committee secretary Mandgu as well as janmilitia commander Gajendra and Kawasi Hunga in the murders.
A blood stained cane, used in murder of the policemen, was also recovered by the police following information collected from the arrested duo, added the officials.
The arrested cadres were produced in a local court on Friday from where they were sent to judicial custody.
