Green Care Society India has tweeted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PMO and Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan suggesting them to make a thorough study on India’s victory over polio. Like polio, Covid vaccines can be made a campaign to get rid of this pandemic, suggested Society president Vishwanath Panigrahi.  Vaccination at home will be more fruitful at centres, he said.

He recalled that the polio campaign in Delhi started in 1994 under the leadership of the current Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan who is known as a skilled strategist.

This became a national campaign in 2012 and India was declared a polio-free country. The lifelong members of Indian Science Congress Organisation, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and a teacher from Dantewada Amujuri Biswanath said that Green Care Society India had worked at ground level in the eradication of polio. On the basis of the deep experiences gained from it, it can be said that once a micro-study of the polio campaign is done, it will give an idea about how corona infection can be controlled.

They further said that the crowd of people at the vaccination centers are gathering without following social distancing and other covid protocols. This violation can cause rise in infection. Considering this, the rules of the World Health Organization and the government should be followed.

Registration of vaccination should be done not only online but also through SMS and phone call.
