Seven new Covid Care Centres come up in Janjgir-Champa

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated seven new Covid Care Centres in Janjgir-Champa district of the state through videoconferencing on Sunday.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said Janjgir-Champa district will become a district well-equipped with healthcare facilities and medical services, in the near future. State Government would abundantly provide the resources for expansion of healthcare services and related facilities in the state. He said that the district administration will chalk out an action plan for the expansion of health services in the district, which would be implemented after State Government’s approval. People of the district will get all the required medical assistance in the district itself, and they will not have to travel for treatment. The newly inaugurated COVID care centers have a total of 508 beds including 214 beds with oxygen facility beds.

Assembly Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant, Health Minister T S Singhdeo, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahria, MP Guhram Ajgal, MLAs Ramkumar Yadav, Narayan Chandel and Indu Banjare, along with State Gausewa Commission Chairman Mahant, Ramsundar Das and many public representatives were virtually present during the inaugural programme. Speaker Dr Mahant highlighted the need for expansion of health facilities in Janjgir-Champa district previously.

Chief Minister said in his address that people of Janjgir-Champa have bravely faced the challenges of COVID crisis, and now the COVID situation here is finally under control. Right from business organizations to religious institutions, everyone has collectively extended support, setting an example of solidarity. This overwhelming support has helped us to rapidly expand the COVID treatment resources in the district. 13 Oxygen concentrators have been received from Chandrahasini Trust Chandrapur, 07 from Dudhadhari Math Shivrinarayan and 66 from other institutions. In Chhattisgarh, the rate of COVID-19 infection is continuously decreasing. On May 15, the infection rate has come down from 30 to just 11 percent. Testing facilities are also being continuously expanded in the state. Previously, 30 to 40 thousand tests were being done daily, but now around 70 thousand tests are being done every day. There is no shortage of oxygen, medicines and beds in the state. Chief Minister said that the country and the state are facing the second wave of COVID-19 right now. We have to be prepared to face the challenge of the third wave successfully. We will have to start mobilizing from now itself to meet the demands of ICU beds, city scan facilities, ventilators and medical specialists in future. All the necessary steps would be taken for expansion of health facilities. There will be no shortage of resources, assured Chief Minister Baghel.

Among the new COVID Hospitals inaugurated by Chief Minister in Janjgir-Champa district, COVID Care Center Madwa has a total of 100 beds, out of which 70 are oxygen beds. Similarly, COVID Care Center Pamgarh has 150 beds including 50 oxygen beds, COVID Care Center Police line has 18 beds including 8 Oxygen beds, COVID Care Center Kulipota has 150 beds including 50 beds Oxygen beds. Likewise, COVID Care Center PIL has 50 beds including 5 oxygen beds, all 10 beds in COVID Care Center of Nawagarh are oxygen beds and Covid Care Center District Hospital Janjgir has 30 beds available, including 21 oxygen beds.
