Raipur, May 23
Raipur Police have served a notice to BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra directing him to appear either personally or through video conference on May 23 for the investigation.

In the notice, Civil Lines police said that Patra is suspected in the case of alleged toolkit. Therefore, it has been directed to him to appear either personally or through video conference on May 23 at 4 pm for the investigation of the case. Not complying with the notice is going to attract legal action.

Notably, a notice was also served to former Chief Minister and BJP national vice-president Raman Singh asking him to remain present in his residence at 12:30 pm on May 24 for recording his statement regarding the toolkit case and provide information.
It may be recalled that an FIR was registered against Chhattisgarh’s former Chief Minister and BJP national vice-president Raman Singh, party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra and others in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur on May 19 for allegedly spreading fake news and promoting enmity between classes in the alleged toolkit row. The case was filed here at Civil Lines police station based on the complaint of Akash Sharma, the president of National Students’ Union of India’s (NSUI) Chhattisgarh unit. Sharma has complained that these BJP leaders have circulated fabricated content using a fake letterhead of the Congress by projecting it as a toolkit developed by the grand old party.
