Korba, June 2
A delegation of Youth Congress Korba unit on Wednesday submitted memorandum to SECL GM and Station House Officer (SHO) Dipka to take requisite steps for prevention of alleged diesel theft incidents at Kusmunda and Gevra area.
The delegation led by the district unit of Youth Congress’s general secretary Ashish Gupta alleged that in last couple of months, several incidents of diesel thefts were reported in Kusmunda and Gevra area of the district. He further alleged that thieves with containers in commercial vehicles entered to the mining areas and stole diesel but neither SECL nor concerned police station took any step to prevent such incidents.
To hush-up the entire incident, police took action against some small thieves but still to take action against those gang, which are causing loss of several crores to the government, alleged Gupta.
Terming the incidents as a matter of serious concern, incharge of the Youth Congress’s district unit Gaurav Dubey said that the theft in such a scale brings police as well as SECL management under suspicion and a complaint in this connection will be lodged before CMD and DP of SECL headquarter in Bilaspur.
The delegation was comprised of president of Pali block Uma Manikpuri, Anshuman Pandey, Imran Khan, Suraj Sahu and Suraj Tiwari.
