A BJP leader in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha was allegedly beaten-up to death on Saturday night in an incident of road rage.
The alleged road rage took place near Kusumpur Chhak under Kaptipada police station area, said police sources.
According to police sources, three youths allegedly thrashed Balasore district in-charge of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Ranjit Pradhan to death after a dispute erupted over a minor issue. The shocking incident took place last evening when Pradhan was heading to his in-law’s house at Nuasahi village.
A dispute broke out between Pradhan and three youths over a minor issue after which the latter dragged him out from car and beat him leaving the BJP leader critically injured. The leader was rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
The three accused were later arrested and charged with murder.
After being informed about the incident, police swung into action and arrested all the assailants, said police sources, adding that further probe in the case was underway.
