Security arrangements and vigils in Tamil Nadu have been heightened following an intelligence input that an armed group bid to infiltrate from Sri Lanka.
Following a alert from Central Intelligence Agencies recently, the state police have reportedly placed elaborate security arrangements in Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, other districts and in Chennai. Moreover, to prevent any untoward incident, the police have heightened vigil as well as frisking in coastal areas along with deployment of armed personnel.
Senior police officials averred that adequate numbers of navigating ships have been roped in for the patrolling exercises. In the wake of the intelligence inputs, coastal towns in Kerala have been also alerted.
