Raipur, June 18
Acting on a complaint received from Chhattisgarh’s unit of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Raipur Civil Lines police have booked Yoga guru Ramkrishna Yadav alias Baba Ramdev for allegedly spreading false information about the medicines being used by doctors in treatment of COVID-19.
An offence in this connection was registered on Wednesday night, said police officials.
In its complaint to police, IMA Raipur’s unit alleged that Yoga guru has been allegedly spreading false information about the allopathy medicines being used in the treatment of COVID-19, said police sources.
Based on the investigation’s findings, police have registered an offence against Baba Ramdev under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and other relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Disaster management Act, said police sources, adding that further probe in the case is underway.
