Four Rohingya men arrested for human trafficking

Four Rohingya men, who were allegedly indulged in human trafficking and residing in the country illegally, were arrested from Meerut by Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The arrested were identified as Mohammad Ismail, Mufizur Rehman alias Mufiz, Hafiz Shafiq alias Shamiullah and Azizul Rahman alias Aziz, all citizens of Myanmar and residing here in the country illegally, informed police sources.

Police sources further informed that from the possession of arrested persons, the team has recovered three refugees card, bogus Aadhaar card, two copies of passport, three mobile handsets, laptop, pendrive and other documents. Prima-facie investigation revealed that the arrested persons were allegedly indulged in trafficking of people and preparation of fake government documents.

Investigation also revealed that the arrested people, who belong to Rohingya community, help people of their community from Myanmar to illegally enter India, added police.
