Teen kill parents, elder sister and grandmother in Malda

A 19-year-old teen allegedly killed his parents, grandmother and younger sister and buried their bodies in the house in West Bengal’s Malda district, police said recently.

The shocking crime that took place in February this year came to light recently when the accused’s elder brother approached police and narrated the entire incident citing threat on his life.

According to police, the accused identified as Asif Mohammad (19) has been arrested and investigators are questioning accused elder brother Arif (21) too. The shocking crime took place at village Gurutola under Kaliachak police station limits in the state’s Malda district. Police have recovered the skeletons of Jawad Ali (53), Ira Bibi (39), Rima Khatun (16) and Aleknoor Bewa (73) from the house and are probing the matter further.

Police sources further informed that prima-facie investigation hints that the crime might have taken place on February 28. Asif might have offered drug laced cold drinks to all of them and later, choked them to death. Later, Asif had dug a trench in the house and buried them. The accused might have committed the crime for money as he has a habit of gambling online.

Police have exhumed the skeletal remains in the presence of executive magistrate and sent that for autopsy, added police sources.

The crime came to light when Arif came to know that his brother was planning to sell the house. Thereafter, Arif met his relatives and narrated to them the entire incident following which police were informed. Based on the information of Arif, police rounded-up Asif and exhumed the bodies.

Police have registered an offence in this connection and are probing the case further, added police sources.
